The Friends Of St. Nicholas House School

Dear All

The Friends of St. Nicholas House School would like to extend a warm welcome to you and take this opportunity to tell you a little about the work we do for our school.

Our committee was formed, primarily, to help raise additional funds by holding various events during the course of the year such as Treasure Hunts, Fashion Shows our Summer Fete and not forgetting the Christmas Bazaar. Not only do these events bring all the parents and children in the school together for a fun day out, but also help us to get to know the wider school community of friends, family and neighbours during an enjoyable social occasion.

Most importantly, all the proceeds raised by the Friends are used entirely for the benefit of the children and the school and help to purchase additional resources, sports equipment or to fund any school project that the Friends Committee consider suitable.

The Friends Committee members are elected every year at the Annual General Meeting, usually held in the Summer Term, and are made up entirely of parents who happily give up their time to organise the fundraising events. We always try to have representatives for each year of the school, including the Kindergarten, so that the interests of children at all stages are taken into account when planning new events.

As the PTA for the school, we have form representatives for each of the classes and should you have any queries or are unsure of who to talk to, they will do their best to help you.

We also have a thriving second-hand uniform scheme, run by some of the Committee members. Sales are planned for each term, with only good quality items being accepted for sale on a 50/50 basis.

So, if you have some fresh ideas for fundraising events and would like to get involved, then please do make yourself known and come and join us.
